Buta (Chana) Dali

Buta (Chana) Dali- 2 cups
Jeera (cumin)- 1 teaspoon
Soriso (mustard)- 1 teaspoon>br> Black pepper - 2 teaspoon
Coconut (grated)- 4 tablespoon
Cinnamon- 1 stick
Black cardamon- 1 small
Ghee- 1 teaspoon
salt- to taste
Turmeric- 1.5 teaspoon


Masala- Grind grated coconut with cinnamon, black pepper, cardamom and little water to a fine paste.
Wash and soak dal for 1 hour.
Heat 4 cups of water in a pressure cooker and boil dali with salt and turmeric powder.
When dal is cooked, take it off the pressure cooker and let it cool.
Heat ghee in a pan and stir mustard seeds and cumin seeds. When they start to splutter, add the dal.
Mix well and when it starts to boil, add the ground masala to the dal and cook for 5 mins.
