Ingredients:
Rice- 250 grams
Milk- 1.5 litres
Sugar - 1 cup
Green Cardamom - 1/2 teaspoon
Water - 1/2 cup
salt - 1/2 teaspoon
Method:
Soak Rice for 4 hours. Stain the water from rice and dry the rice well.
Grind the rice to moist powder form.
Heat the water in a wok. Then add salt, and then pour the powdered rice and stir well to make a paste (avoiding forming lumps).
When the dough cools down, roll into small balls (elliptical shape). This is called Gaintha.
Heat and bring milk to a boil in a separate work. Add sugar and cardamom powder. When it boils completely, put the Gaintha
and boil well till the milk thickens. You may add a little rice powder to cold water and pour it to the milk to thicken it.
Take it off the stove and let it cool. Serve when cools down.
Note: Gaintha can also be made with sooji instead of rice flour.
