Alu- 2 medium
Onion- 1 small diced, Garlic- 2 cloves
Green chilli- 2
Mustard seeds- 1 teaspoon, Turmeric- 1 teaspoon
Cumin powder- 1/2 teaspoon, Coriander powder- 1/2 teaspoon
Masala- Soak mustard seeds with garlic and green chilli. Grind to a fine paste.
Wash Kalara and make a big slit length wise from top to bottom
Boil kalara and Alu with turmeric and salt for 10 mins or till its soft.
When cool, scoop out the contents from the inside of kalara (pulp and seeds).Set aside.
Peel potatoes and mash them in a separate bowl.
In a separate pan, heat 1 teaspoon oil and stir in some diced onion. When browned, add 2 teaspoon of masala paste,
turmeric powder, cumin and coriander powder. Stir well and then add the mashed potatoes. Mix well. Take off the stove.
When the potatoes cool down, take a handful and stuff into the boiled Kalara.
Heat oil in a frying pan and saute the stuffed Kalara till they turn golden brown and crispy.
