Shallots- 1, Garlic- 1 clove
Green Chilli- 1, Badi - 8-10
Mustard oil -1/2 teaspoon
salt- to taste
Wash and make small slits on the tomato with a knife.Wrap tomoatoes in an alumunium foil and put on the stove top. You can also put the tomatoes in a baking dish, smeared with oil and bake for 30 mins at 350 degrees Farenheit and then broil “HI” for 15 mins till they char well. Mash tomoatoes, add chopped onions, garlic, green chilli, salt and mustard oil and mix well. Just before serving, pan fry the Badi.
Crush them and add to the tomatoes. Serve with Pakhala.
