Ingredients
- Ambada – 250Gms
- Gur (Jaggery) – 200 Gms
- Panch Phutan ( Panch Phoran) – 1 tea spoon
- Sukhila lanka ( Dry Chili) – 2 no
- Teja Patra ( Bay Leaf ) – 2 no
- Bhrusanga Patra (Curry Leaves ) – 2 leaves
- Sorish Tel ( Mustard Oil ) – 1 Large spoon
- Haldi Powder (Turmeric Powder) – 1 tea spoon
- Hingu ( Asafoetida Powder ) – 1 pinch
- Luna ( Salt ) – To taste
Preparation : Step wise
- Slice the ambada in 2 or 4 slices.
- Take a deep pan; add 2, 3 cups of water. Boil the ambada slices till it cooked well and remove the ambada slices from the pan
- Heat oil in a fyring pan, add asafetida powder, curry leafs, dry chili, bay leaf to it.
- When it’s fried add the boiled ambada, add salt to taste , turmeric powder. Stir it.
- Then add Jaggery to it , Cook it till the Jaggery and ambada makes a good coat on each other. Remove from flame serve it with rice.
- This sweet and sour dish can be side dish for rice ,mudhi or pakhala.

Do the ambeda need peeling before cooking? How much time does it approximately take to boil the ambeda. Please include step by step pictures. Thank you
